The Black Case
Brand Refresh, Positioning & Content Strategy
Mark Payne
FIRSTLY
Thank you for being so open about where you're at and what you're trying to build. Everything that follows has been put together with care, based on what you shared. Take your time with it. And when you're ready to talk, we're here.
[01] THE BRIEF
WHAT YOU TOLD US
Everything below has been put together specifically for you based on what you told us.
What We HEARD
James built Black Case from a one-man operation into a company doing around £2m in annual turnover, working with acts like Miles Kane and The Lathums. You and James are now planning the next five years, restructuring into three pillars (Touring, Production and a still-unnamed premium tier for higher-level artists) ahead of a future sale. The gap holding that back isn't the work, it's the story.
PROJECT SCOPE
A brand refresh, not a re-brand, that gives Black Case a consistent, professional presence to match the calibre of artists it already works with. Starting with a Purpose 'Discovery' Session, followed by a visual identity refresh, a rebuilt website written for artist managers and labels, and a content system that turns the footage you're already capturing into a consistent, self-sufficient output.
[02] BEFORE WE START
WHAT WE'RE
NOT DOING
A full rebrand or new logo. James likes the current mark, so this is a refresh of what's already there, not a replacement.
X
A fresh competitor or audience research audit. We'll build directly on the positioning document you and James already have, not duplicate it.
X
Providing on-the-ground filming crew. Every show already has someone capturing footage, the gap is turning it into something usable, not capturing more of it.
X
The bespoke tour logistics and operations software you're exploring. That's a separate initiative outside this scope.
X
[03] THE OPPORTUNITY
Every show already has a camera rolling. Nobody's turning it into anything.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Every Black Case show already has someone filming. The real bottleneck isn't capture, it's turning 600 hours of footage into 30 seconds people actually watch, and telling the behind-the-scenes story (the van, the crew, the load-in) that shows the professionalism management companies are actually looking for, rather than more shots of the artist on stage.

[08] THE REASON
Why Us
We're two sisters, Arabella and Alexandra, and we run Five Six hands-on. There's no account managers, no chain of people between you and the work, the people you'd talk to are the people delivering it. That founder-to-founder way of working is the same way Black Case has grown, owner-led, hands-on, no agency umbilical cord. We work in a toolbox, not a retainer contract: we teach you how to use what we build, then hand it over. You own everything, forever.
